About the Enameled Peacock Feather Earrings
Long a symbol of many cultures and religions, the peacock often represents spirituality, royalty, renewal, and good fortune. Cast of solid pewter in the Maryland studio of artist Mary Demarco, the peacock feather earrings are graced with an array of Swarovski crystals and blue cat's eye semi-precious stones. The lovely peacock blue color is the result of enameling, the process of firing hand-painted glass powder at a high temperature for a smooth, permanent application. Measuring 1.5" in length, the feathers dangle from surgical steel posts accented with green Swarovski crystals. All components are hypoallergenic, lead-free, nickel-free, and tarnish resistant.
- What is pewter?
Pewter is a white metal alloy consisting of tin with small amounts of antimony and copper. Frequently used for fine kitchenware and jewelry, pewter is completely lead-free and nickel-free.
