About the Artisan Glass Waterlily Brooch

Jewelry artisan Michael Vincent Michaud has studied extensively with some of America's finest glass artists and institutions and collaborated with his acclaimed father on jewelry collections for museums around the world. Today, Michael combines his knowledge of glass working, his experience in jewelry creation, and his keen sense of design to create colorful works of wearable art.

A series of lily pads are formed from recycled glass, cast by hand with the artist's designer color blend and given a satin finish. The green glass is set into hand-formed bronze surroundings and layered in 24k gold with a matte finish to create a tasteful color combination. Three pink glass water lily blooms emerge from the lily pads. Though a pink-purple color in natural light conditions, the blossoms can appear pale blue under blue LED or fluorescent indoor lighting. An eye-catching work of wearable art, the brooch measures approximately 1.5" wide x 2" high.

Please note: Because the artisan glass is hand-cast and the brass hand-formed, small variations in shape and arrangement are to be expected and adds unique artistic character.
