About the Moon Bunny Ring Dish
For centuries, ancient folklore has told tales of the virtuous connection between the moon and the bunny. From Buddhist to Aztec cultures, stories portray the bunny rabbit as a noble and sacrificial soul whose image will forever be observed on the celestial surface of a full moon.
Individually handmade from clay using the sgraffito technique, each 4" ring tray is high-fired for a permanent finish that is lead-free and food safe. The little dish may be used to hold rings, pet treats, tea bags, or as a beautiful decorative accent. Made by hand in North Carolina.
What is sgraffito? Sgraffito is an imaginative decorative pottery technique in which the artist uses tools to scratch away layers of solid black glazing to reveal the white ceramic surface underneath. Once the reverse technique is accomplished, a clear glaze is applied to the surface and the pottery is high-fired.
