About the Arts and Crafts Style Upright Clock with Poppy Tile
A masterful marriage of intricate woodwork and ceramic art! Handcrafted by the Schlabaugh Family of Iowa, the upright clock body consists of natural quarter-sawn white oak provided with a classic dark oak finish. The wood is inset with a clay tile of an elegant poppy flower image adapted from a glass window designed by arts and crafts artisan Dard Hunter for the Roycroft Inn in 1906. Measuring 4x8 (3.5" x 7.5" visible), the distinctive Motawi tile is made by hand in Michigan using traditional casting techniques. Perfect for a shelf, tabletop, or mantel, the clock stands 15" high with a glass face and quartz movement.

Wood details: Each clock is constructed of all-natural hand-polished hardwoods and provided a durable finish to enhance the natural patterns of the wood. Popular in Mission, Craftsman, and Shaker style woodwork, quarter-sawn oak is created by cutting the oak tree in a specified manner to produce a tight-grained and aesthetically pleasing appearance.
