About the Teal Green 2-Spout Face Jug
A form of folk art at its finest, the American face jug is influenced by a marvelous melting pot of cultures, serving as a representation of the America's people, history, and culture. Handmade in the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina, the face jug is turned in stoneware clay and high-fired to a permanent, durable finish. Face Jugs are typically adorned with exaggerated, hand-sculpted facial details that reflect whimsical or wondrous personalities. Measuring 14.5" high and built in the style of a 2-spout water container, this jug features a solid matte teal-green glaze, wide eyes, and simple features reminsicent of old-fashioned antique jugs.
