Invented in France in the 1800's, the Butter Crock has been rediscovered as the ideal way to store and serve butter at room temperature. Handcrafted in North Carolina, our French Butter Crock is shaped on a potter's wheel, glazed by the hands of the artisan, and fired to a strong, permanent finish. With your choice of 4 color glazes, the butter crock features fine speckles and warm brown stoneware edges that adapt to a wide range of kitchen decor styles. Perfectly functional and American-made, the durable stoneware pottery crock is lead-free, cadmium-free, microwave and dishwasher safe.

How to use your French Butter Crock: 

Pack 1 stick of butter into the lid (holds approx. ½ cup)
Pour cool water into the base vessel until about ⅓ to ½ full
Place the lid into the base so the water creates an airtight seal around the butter

Your butter stays fresh and spreadable on the countertop for up to 30 days with no refrigeration needed. Change the water every few days (or whenever it looks cloudy) for best results.
