About the Handmade 8" Face Jug

A form of folk art at its finest, the American face jug is influenced by a marvelous melting pot of cultures, serving as a representation of the America's people, history, and culture. Today's southern potters continue the classic tradition of face jugs and enchant us with whimsical faces and one-of-a-kind creations.

Handmade in Seagrove, North Carolina by potter Chris Kovack, the face jug is turned in stoneware clay and high-fired to a permanent, durable finish. Each Kovack Face Jug has expressive, hand-sculpted facial details and is given a unique name. 'Beedie B Bedebee' has excited features with wide eyes, toothy grin, and an attractive blue-grey glaze.
