About the Celestial Pilgrim Leather Journal

Artisan-crafted one at a time, this leather journal is crafted from quality cowhide custom tanned in a golden-yellow hue and deeply embossed with a detailed reproduction of a Victorian-era engraving by French astronomer Camille Flammarion that evokes a blend of science, wonder, and old-world symbolism. Fully wrapping around the front and back, the intricate design follows an exploring pilgrim as he reaches the edge of the known world and looks behind the veil of the celestial sky to discover a realm of cosmic machinery.

A solid Britannia pewter button is individually cast with a coordinating celestial design and secures the journal shut with an attached rawhide cord. Within the leather cover is a replaceable 5.5" x 8.5" 208-page hard-cover blank book of heavy bond acid-free unlined pages, perfect for recording sketches, notes, daily reflections, diary, dreams, poetry, musings or your personal works of literature. 

All leather portions are tanned and hand-tooled in the USA. Pewter accent is individually designed and cast in the USA.

• Ready for a refill? Once the pages are full, it is easily refillable with a new blank journal book (also available separately, below), allowing the journal to be appreciated for a lifetime. Blank refills found here

• You may also use certain other A5 refill books! Though dimensions vary slightly between "standard" A5 notebooks a notebook that is similar to the A5 standard international paper size – 5.8 x 8.3 inches (148 x 210 mm) will work, just make sure that the spine isn't too deep (spine must be 7/8 inch or less).
